In 2001 the photorealistic painter Arthur A.
Keller from Hamburg looked for new and larger rooms for his studio. By
chance he found the cantine of the ancient agricultural production
cooperative at Schwanheide, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and it was clear
immediately, that this was the perfect new studio. After long years of hard
work, the worst is done and everything looks different!
The idea becomes real: a house in the
country, good accessible by train, with accomodation for visitors and
artists (artistic holidays are one of our special program!), with exhibition
hall good for working, too, and many other rooms to work and to live in and
a very beautiful and big garden in the scenicly attractive surroundings.
Hamburg, the next large city, is 35 minutes
away by train and there are also train connections to Schwerin and Rostock.
So Schwanheide is convenient for traffic - by train and by car.
Beside his drawings, Arthur A. Keller offers
digital services since many years. So House of Arts Schwanheide became the
center of excellence for canvas prints and fine art prints for many regulars
over the last years. We deliver pictures all over the world - in extreme
cases even within 24 hours! Furthermore, we printed whole exhibitions here
in Schwanheide, already!
In October 2006, a new big printer with 12
incs and 1.52 m printing width was put into operation and so the quality
increased considerably. The digital book production began in 2006, too. By
now, two high-performance pinters print art calenders, post cards, books and
catalogues in small and very small editions. We can even do hardcover. Our
customers welcomed this service and we printed and bound many interesting
books already.
The number of workers increases constantly,
too, since December 2008 there are ten brave employees - without counting
the director and the cat.
Painting courses, printing seminars and
exhibitions complete our program. The garden with its 3600 m² invites to
rest.
Arthur A. Keller's brother Dr. Carlos Keller
builds an architectonically interesting sidewing, so that the whole building
will have 816 m² in the end. |
